WHY ONE SHOULD BECOME IntPE?
By virtue of being a full member of the International Professional Engineers Agreement (IPEA) since 2009, The Institution of Engineers (India) represents India and has been empowered to establish and maintain the India section of the International Professional Engineers (IntPE) Register. The International Professional Engineers Agreement (IPEA) (previously known as the Engineers Mobility Forum (EMF), is a multi-national agreement between engineering organisations in the member jurisdictions which creates the framework for the establishment of an international standard of competence for professional engineering.

MEMBER ECONOMIES OF IPEA

The International Professional Engineers Agreement (IPEA) (previously known as the Engineers Mobility Forum (EMF), is a multi-national agreement between engineering organisations in the member jurisdictions which creates the framework for the establishment of an international standard of competence for professional engineering, The International Professional Engineers (India) registered with IEI, may receive credit when seeking registration or licensure in the jurisdiction of another member, i.e this will facilitate an engineer in mobility across member jurisdictions.

However, for the IntPE certified engineers to enjoy the benefit of mobility and recognition in the member economy country IEI needs to have mobility agreement with each of the member economy country. As of date there is no bilateral agreement of IEI with any of the above member economy country.
INTERNATIONAL PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS ASSESSMENT EXAMINATION
The Assessment Examination is an integral part of the assessment of applicant for certification as a Professional Engineer. The examination standard is above BE level covering expected professional engineering experience. The examination would be held online at the identified Centres of the IEI and other professional Institutions across the country. They would be held in two Modules : Module 1 and Module 2. The Module 1 is common to all, comprising of 40 questions of 1 mark each with a duration of 1.5 hours.
