DR. G. RANGANATH, M.E, Ph D, C.Engg (I), FIE
President, IEI
DR. G. RANGANATH completed his doctorate in the area of
Material Science from Mangalore University, M.E. in Machine
Design from Bangalore University, and a Bachelor's degree in
Mechanical Engineering from Mysore University.
He started his career as a Vice Principal of Adhiyaman College of
Engineering, Hosur in 1991, and after promotion, he has been
serving as the Principal since 2008. He is having 36 years of
academic experience.
Dr. G. Ranganath's area of interest lies in Machine design and material science and he has
more than 70 Research publications and 10 books on Engineering and Technology. He has
guided 9 research scholars, all of whom have been awarded Ph.D.
Professional Organization

Dr. G. Ranganath works enthusiastically for national professional organizations
and he is a life member of various organizations such as Fellow of The Institution of
Engineers (India), Indian Society for Technical Education, Computer Society of India,
Hosur Industries Association, etc.,

Over seven years, he played a significant role in establishing
the ISTE Best
Chapter Award (2004-10) under his Chairmanship.

He served as the National Vice-President of the
Indian Society for Technical
Education
, New Delhi, from 2012 to 2014.

He served as the Chairman of the Salem local center, IEI, for the sessions 2012-14.

He played a key role in establishing Hosur Local Centre in the year 2015 and was the
Founder Chairman — HLC-IE(I).

He took a keen interest, mobilized funds, procured a vacant site within a short period,
and started constructing IE(I)’s own building for Hosur Local Centre.

He was the Chairman of Tamil Nadu State Centre , IEI for the sessions 2016-18.

He is serving in IEI Council from 2016 - till date. In IEI Council he served as the
Chairman of CATE for the years 2019, 2022 & 2023.

With his extensive association with IEI & ISTE, he, as a multifaceted personality, has
exerted total dedication and successfully represented the interests of the two
professional bodies.
Indian Engineering Congress

He was the Chairman of the 32nd Indian Engineering Congress in 2017, the
Honourable President of India, and a few Ministers from the State, and a couple of
VVIPs attended the engineering congress as Chief Guest and Guests respectively.

He played a vital role in the accommodation committee in the
37th
Indian Engineering Congress 2022.

Dr. G. Ranganath, served as a Syndicate Member for 3 years at Anna University, Chennai,
Tamil Nadu.

Dr G Ranganath served as a Senate Member for 6 years and as an Elected Syndicate member for 3 years at Periyar University, Salem, Tamilnadu.

His Excellency Governor of Tamilnadu nominated Dr G Ranganath as a Planning Board Member for One Term at Periyar University, Salem, Tamilnadu.
Institution — Adhiyamaan College of Engineering (Autonomous), Hosur

He administered as Chairman of the Academic Council, Member of Governing
Council, and Chairman of the Board of Studies, of the Department of Mechanical
Engineering for the past two decades.

As Principal, He leads more than 4500 students in the college, and more than 2000
students in the hostel as Chief warden.

As a Leader, he facilitates good life for around 350 faculty members and 650 other
employees in the institution for the past three decades without any disputes.

He is responsible and accountable for nearly 30 to 35 crore of turnover per year in the
institution.

He has visited various countries including Canada, Japan, Argentina, the United States of
America, Dubai, China, Qatar, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka to disseminate his knowledge
treasure.
Dr. G Ranganath, FIE has been elected as the President of The Institution of Engineers (India) for the session 2023-24 during the 723rd Council Meeting of The Institution held on 24 September, 2023 at Guwahati and assumed the office of the President at the 104th Annual General Meeting of the Institution held on 29 December 2023 at Jabalpur.
